Joe A Esparza Jr - Class Of 1962

Joe Almanza Esparza Jr. Nov. 14, 1942 - Oct. 21, 2011 Our beloved, Joe A. Esparza Jr., (Tata), age 68, after a valiant battle with cancer, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday October 21, 2011. Joe was born and raised in Austin, Texas to Joe and Esther Esparza Sr. He graduated from Johnston High School and began working at the Headliners Club, a job he enjoyed doing for 43 years until he retired. He is survived by his mother, Esther Esparza; wife, Edna Esparza; and daughters Alice Esparza, Josie Aguilar and Emma Gonzales; grandchildren Jadyn, Jordyn and Jrake Aguilar; brothers Ruben Esparza and wife Avelia; Ismael Esparza and wife Ruth and Robert Esparza; sister, Martha Marie Macko and husband Dave; and many nieces and nephews. Joe is remembered as a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who was very active in church and loved serving our Lord in any way he could. He was an avid sports fan and loved to listen to "oldies" music. He loved to cook and at one time owned El Taquito Chef restaurant. After he retired he dedicated his time to raising his beloved grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those who had the opportunity to meet and know him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church 2701 S. Lamar Austin, TX 78704. The family would like to thank staff at Texas Oncology, Girling Healthcare and Lighthouse Hospice Formal Visitation 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday October 25, 2011 at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Mr. Esparza will Lie In State at the Faith United Methodist Church 2701 S. Lamar beginning at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday October 26, 2011. Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
