Vermell Kyser, Jr.

July 15, 1944  -  August 13, 2010

Vermell Kyser, slipped into the arms of Jesus on August 13, 2010 at the age of 66. He was surrounded by his family, friends, pastor and Hospice family.
He was a born again believer and would tell everyone that Jesus Christ was his hope. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kyle for 27 years. Mel taught English and Journalism at Hays High School for over 19 years and he was very active in the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. He was preceded in death by his father, Vermell Kyser, Sr. and his brother, Jimmy Kyser.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Karen Williams Kyser of Kyle; two children, son, Jason Kyser of Kyle and his wife, Alicen and daughter, Elizabeth Lipich of Kyle and her husband, Gary; mother, Virginia Kyser of Austin; sister, Shirley Judd of Austin; sisters in law, nieces, nephews and many family friends.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Loukas, Dr. Dziuk, nurse, Mary and staff members, Ellen and Robyn at Texas Oncology. They loved us and served us with medical expertise. Susie Kana, nurse and family friend, walked with Mel throughout this journey with cancer�Thank you.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 17th from 4-8 p.m. at the Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Kyle. A family burial will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be give to First Baptist Church of Kyle, P.O. Box 247, Kyle, TX 78640.
