
Our beloved Bernabe Sustaita Medrano, Jr., 72, resident of Bastrop, was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 13, 2015.
He was born on July 18, 1943 to Bernabe Lopez Medrano Sr. and Nicolasa Sustaita Medrano. Mr. Medrano worked hard to provide for his family, working at Lithoprints for over 25 years, and then working for the State of Texas in the print department for 5 years. He served his country by serving in the Army National Guard, and receiving an honorable discharge.
Bernabe met the love of his life while in High School, marrying his High School sweetheart, Linda Delgado Medrano. Together they raised 3 children in Austin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda D. Medrano, children; Maria Theresa Medrano Briceño (Eladio), Ben D. Medrano, Marrissa Medrano Gomez(Anthony), 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild(Ben Isaac Medrano), siblings; Julia Medrano Alicea (Andres), Antonio Medrano, Jose Medrano (Yolanda), Jesus Medrano, Eva Medrano Lugo, Roberto Medrano(Rosalinda), Maria Medrano Jennings (Rod), sister-in-law Terry Castillo (Greg).
Family wishes to express gratitude to all the staff involved at Seton Hospital and his physicians, Dr. Azim Shekarchi and Dr. Rene Castillo.
Recitation of Holy Rosary at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street (South). Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Friar Florencio Rodriguez, TOR, officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, in Austin.
