Mr. Joe Perez Rangel June 1, 1946-April 2, 2013 On April 2, 2013, our beloved husband and father, Joe Perez Rangel was called home to Heaven. Joe was born in Austin on June 1, 1946 to Nicholas and Pauline Rangel and grew up in the heart of East Austin. He graduated from Johnston High School, and worked for over 28 years at the Bergstrom Air Force Base Commissary. He went on to work an additional 14 years before retiring from the State of Texas Department of Information Services. Joe was a faithful member of San Jose Catholic Church. He was a devoted family man and spent all of his life providing for his family. His grandchildren meant the world to him and he loved spending time with them. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Olga Perales Rangel, daughters Sandra Jo Garcia and Laura Ann Munos; Son-in-laws Richard Cantu Garcia III and Joel Arthur Munos; Grandchildren Christina Marie Garcia, Richard Joseph Garcia IV and Sarah Angelina Munos; Brothers and Sisters and their spouses - Pete and Margaret Rangel, Martin and Bertha Rangel, Beatrice and Elias Castro, Irene and Randy Martinez, Alfred and Bessie Rangel, Mary and Alex Cano; In-Laws and their spouses: Irene and Louis Castillo, Domingo and Margie Perales, Roy and Olga Perales, Jesse and Phyllis Perales; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Pauline Rangel; In-Laws Sarah Perales Sanchez and Domingo Perales; and Brothers In-Law Alex and Joe Perales. Serving as Pallbearers, Nephews: John Paul Perales, Alex Perales Jr., Robert Rangel, Elias Castro Jr., Alfred (AJ) Rangel Jr., Emiliano Rangel, Alex Cano Jr., Adrian Martinez, and Theodore Rangel. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Angel Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at San Jose Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
