Aurora Perez Aurora Perez, 63, passed away at home surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born on September 14, 1946 in Austin, Texas, to parents Felix and Maria Rodriguez. Aurora was a loving daughter, wife, and mother. After her marriage to Guadalupe Perez, she and her husband Lupe joyfully adopted their daughter Sara. In addition to devoting herself to her family, Aurora owned and operated Dorie's Beauty Salon on Pleasant Valley Road for 20 years. Aurora was the primary caregiver for her parents for 8 years, taking them into her home so she could patiently care for them. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Knights of Columbus Council #8141 for their generosity and kindness during the past several years. Thanks also go to the staff of Southern Care Hospice and Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and attention to Mrs. Perez. Pallbearers will be graciously provided by the members of Council #8141 of The Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 with a Rosary at 7:30p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 North Lamar. Mass will be officiated by Father Matt Iwuji at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 2, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church, 5909 Reicher Drive Austin, Texas 78723.
