Jimmy A. Martinez , 52, beloved son, brother, and uncle, born on March 13, 1957, went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2009. Jimmy was very outgoing, the comedian of the family. His passion was cooking and he was the best cook. His love for the kitchen brought him to work at numerous Austin restaurants. He was very loved by everyone he encountered. He was preceded in death by his father Mr. Santos P. Martinez, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and two nieces. He is survived by his mother, Ms. Nicolasa A. Martinez; two brothers, Mr. Carmelo Martinez (Sally) and Mr. Vicente Martinez; six sisters, Ms. Maria Rodriguez, Mrs. Alice Morales (Javier), Mrs. Eva Tinajero (Julio), Mrs. Brenda Muñoz (Juan), Ms. Sara Alvarez, and Paz Martinez. Also he leaves to cherish his memory numerous nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces. The family will receive family and friends Saturday, September 5, 2009 at DeLeon Funeral Home, Lockhart, TX from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.; Sunday, September 6, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. with rosary at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, September 7, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. with a procession following to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lockhart, TX for Holy Mass, then to San Pablo Cemetery, his final resting place.
