Roy Rodela - Class Of 1967

06/04/2003) Roy Rodela was called by his Lord on June 2, 2003. Roy, a native Austinite, was born August 3, 1949. He attended Johnston High School, where he pursued his passion for music as a drummer. He was a musician for over 30 years where his talent could be heard throughout several local bands. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Emma C. Martinez. Roy leaves behind his wife of 30 years Delia Perez Rodela; his daughter, Angela and son-in-law, Reynaldo Gil; his son, LeRoy Rodela; and granddaughter,Isabella Maria Gil, all of Austin. He also leaves behind his mother, Dolores Gonzalez; his father,Raymond Rodela, of Austin; his brothers, Manuel Rodela and wife,Alice of Colorado, Robert Rodela and wife, Felipa of Richland Hills, Charles Rodela, MD of San Antonio; sister, Virginia Roussett of Austin; and numerous nephews and nieces. Until his illness he was employed at The Heritage at Gaines Ranch where he was well liked and appreciated by staff and residents alike. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Pallbearers are Alfred Rangel, Wayne Mayer, Phillip Donley, Ben Marines, Ray Pesina, Guadalupe ``Shorty'' Ortiz, and honorary pall bearer Manual Donley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road.
