Margarito C. Benavides Jr. “Margo”, age 69, passed away on February 13, 2018, in Austin, Texas. He was born on July 3, 1948 in Edna, Texas to Margarito and Matilde Benavides.

Margo attended Johnston High School. Margo was a great man, faithful husband, a wonderful father, and a loving grandfather. He married Estela Benavides on November 24, 1974 and were married for 43 wonderful years.

Margo worked as a self-contractor in construction for over 40 years. He had a passion for fishing, playing his guitar and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Matilde Benavides; his brother, Jessie P. Medina; his brother-in-law, Fred T. Garcia, and his nephew Benson Briseño.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Estela Benavides; his children, Iris Benavides, Trini Benavides and Jamie Benavides; his sister, Mary Benavides, his brother, Tom Benavides and wife Josie, and his sister, Yolanda DeLa Rosa and husband Pete, and his sister-in-law, Annie Medina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Marcus Anthony Cantu, Aaliyah Benavides, and Mia Benavides, and one great-grandchild Braelyn Anthony Cantu “Peanut”, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 16th of February 2018, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
