Our beloved Antonio "Tony" Gonzales, age 70, resident of Austin, Texas, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Tony proudly worked for the State of Texas and retired after 25 years of service. Tony was a well-respected artist and pillar of the East Austin Community. We would like to thank Dr. Punit Chada and staff from Texas Oncology, and Hospice Austin for their compassionate care. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolfo Gonzales and Anita R. Gonzales; his sister, Victoria Gonzales. Tony is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Rachel Y. Gonzales; his daughters, Lori Gonzales and Julie Gonzales; his grandchildren, Serena Tijerina, Andrew Morin, Katelyn Morin, and Nayeli Borja; his great-grandsons, Cristian Huitron and Anthony Soriano; his siblings, Elida Morgan, Dora Martinez, Rudy Gonzales Jr., Mary Sandoval, Virgie (John) Aguilera, Robert (Elsa) Gonzales, Judy (Trinidad) Ortega, Amelia (Robert) Islas, Alesia Gonzales, Herman (Guadalupe) Gonzales, and Melissa Gonzales; numerous nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and friends. Serving as Pallbearers are Joe Ybarra, John Ybarra, Edward Ybarra, Andrew Morin, Michael Gonzales and Isaac Padilla. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeremy Coronado and Cristian Huitron. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S 1st Street, Austin, Texas 78745. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave. Austin, Texas 78704.
