Benny Lee Hawkins, 60, of Austin, Texas passed away at his home on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Benny Lee Hawkins was born on August, 18, 1950 in Austin, Texas to Johnnie Hawkins & Bennie Jewel White.

Benny served in the US Air Force from 1968 to 1973. Even though Benny was an intensely private person, he will always be remembered as friendly, honest and helpful. He had a reputation for being able to fix anything. During his 60 years of life Benny made numerous friends and mentored several co-workers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Johnnie Hawkins and Mrs. Bennie Jewel White-Hawkins; one brother, Ed Harvey Hawkins.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon; three children; one son, Gentry Mason, two daughters, Tannika Hawkins, Kizzie Alvarez and husband, Jason and four grandchildren, Velma Andrews, Jadon and Laila Alvarez, Gentry Mason, Jr; one sister, one brother and a host of nieces and nephews.
