Toby was a good friend. We played softball in the summers. We both enrolled in Vocational Printing in our Jr and Sr years. In the summer of our Sr. year we worked @ the Johnston Print Shop. Toby asked why did we not join the Marines under the Buddy Plan after graduation. That was our plan, but in November '67, my brother-in-law, Wiley Guerrero, was killed in Dak To. My dad advised me that he would not co-sign for me to join, since I would be only 17 when I graduated. Toby enlisted by himself and eventually made the biggest sacrifice one person can make. He gave his life for his country. Toby was my friend and a Hero.

R.I.P. my friend
