CHARLES WAYNE MITCHELL, JR.

Charles Wayne Mitchell, Jr., 40, of Austin passed away Sunday morning, April 21,1991. 

He was a native Austinite.

He graduated with high honor from A.S. Johnston High School in 1969. He attended the University of Texas for two years before moving to New York; there he continued his education in drama and art.  He returned to Austin in 1984, to pursue a degree in accounting and economics.  He was employed with Night Rider Overnight Copy Service for three years.

He joined Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church and sang in the choir at an early age.  His father and one sister preceded him in death.

He is survived by his mother, Julia Faye Taylor Mitchell of Austin; sisters, Estella Malone, Claire Martin and Amy Thomas of Austin; brothers, Michael Dell Mitchell of Germany, Therion Roy Mitchell and Kevin Mitchell of Austin; numerous nieces and nephews.
