Obituary for GWENDOLYN YOUNG

Gwendolyn Pinchback Young, affectionately known as Gwen, was born on July 4, 1951 in Austin, TX; the only daughter to Joe & Bernice Sayles Pinchback.
Gwen accepted Christ at an early age uniting with Mt. Calvary in Austin, TX where she was baptized by Reverend S. L. Davis. Gwen served faithfully as an Usher and later attended St. James MBC under the pastoral leadership of Dr. B. W. McClendon Sr.
Gwen was educated in the Austin Independent School District. She attended L.L. Campbell, Holy Cross, Kealing and Johnston High School.
Gwen was employed by Austin Transit/Cap Metro, Austin Independent School District Transportation, Drove Semi trucks, and finished her career as a School Crossing Guard Supervisor for the City of Austin until she became ill in 2006.
Gwen was preceded in death by her father Joe M. Pinchback (Mutt) and her great niece Shaniyah Gary.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; mother, Bernice Pinchback, brother, Edwin Pinchback, children, Andre Pinchback (Sonya), Renee Young (James), Tonya Young, Ty Deon Houston, grandchildren, Dedric Neal (Juliet), Rodrick McLennan Jr., Cameron Pinchback, great grandchildren, Julian and Gabrielle Neal, nieces, LaKisha Young, Creshonna Pinchback, and Briona Madison, great nieces, Sariah Gary, Ashiyah Young, Lariah Gary, Laniyah Gary and Dev’ree Madison, great nephews, Chance Young and Dayvon Madison, a host of relatives, friends and the little Yorkie she loved so much, Jordan.
