Raymond Rendon Obituary

Raymond Rendon, Jr., age 73 of Buda, Texas, passed away peacefully into his Savior's arms in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on August 3, 2023. He was born to Adelina Martinez and Ramon Rendon Sr. on April 20, 1950, in Austin Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents Adelina and Ramon Rendon, Sr., and his sister, Mary Rendon.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Elvira de la Rosa "Vera" Rendon, his sons, Daniel Alec and Jonathan Rey (Emily), and his daughter, Rebekah Rae. His grandchildren Sebastian, Zovia, Gianna, Johana Perez, Elise Rae, Leah Rae, Jaxon Rey, Vincent Sanchez, and Joaquin Rey. Great-granddaughter Violet Diane. Raymond is also survived by his loving siblings, Richard, Joe, Rosa Santa Ana, Cris Martinez (Albert), Reynaldo (Julie), Ernest (Rosie), Janie Norgan (Roy), Antonio (Diola), and Florence Gonzalez (Marcos) and a large family of nieces and nephews.
Raymond graduated from A.S. Johnston High School and attended Durham Business College in Austin, Texas. Raymond was employed with the State of Texas, Burnham Van Service Inc., Bekins, EDC Moving Systems, Rockford Business Interiors, Penske Corporation and retired from ABF Freight System Inc. During his career as a freight truck driver, he excelled tremendously and received numerous certifications and awards, all of which made his family proud.
Raymond enjoyed watching all sporting events, some of his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, University of Texas Longhorns, Texas Rangers, and NASCAR. He could always be seen proudly wearing their shirts and jackets despite their season record. Upon retirement, his dream of owning an RV came true which brought him much joy spending quality time with Vera and the family along with extended family on Lake Austin, San Marcos River, and Port Aransas. His favorite pass time was fishing whether it was at a catch and release fishing pond or on the coastal waters.
Raymond's smile, contagious laugh, witty sense of humor, silly jokes and riddles was what brought so much sunshine into everyone's lives. His abounding unconditional love for his family and friends is what everyone will remember him for and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Diana Ruthce, RN at Ascension Seton Hays Hospital; Aspen Hospice nursing staff Alex and Cathy, and Hospice Coordinator, Jennifer Cash; Alysia Bedgood, MD and staff at Inertia Sports & Family Medicine for their excellent care of Raymond.

The Visitation and Rosary will be on Wednesday, August 16 at Harrell Funeral Home, 1715 Kirby, Kyle, Texas 78640. Visitation begins at 5:00 p.m. and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 East Ninth Street, Austin, Texas 78702. Graveside service at 12:00 p.m. at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
