Gloria Rivera (Martinez) - Class Of 1969 VIEW PROFILE

Gloria Rivera Martinez, 74 of Austin, passed away peacefully at her home on September 3rd, 2024. She was an amazing wife, mother, and friend. She will always be known for her kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality. Gloria was born on September 1st, 1950, to Fidel Garcia Rivera and Josepha Figueroa Rivera in Victoria, Texas. Gloria graduated from Johnston High School in 1969. Gloria worked in the semi-conductor field for over 40 years. She was employed with Motorola and retired from Minco Technology Labs in Austin. She made many lifetime friends and built great working relationships with every person she met. Gloria married the love of her life, Hector, after high school in June 1969. During their 55 years of marriage, they had two children, and two grandchildren. Gloria enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting Casinos, visiting with her family and friends. She loved game night with her family, cooking, and spending time with everyone. She opened her heart and home to many people and always put others first. A lifetime resident of Austin, she was preceded in death by her parents, Fidel Garcia Rivera and Josepha Figueroa Rivera; her brothers, Henry Rivera, Clemente Rivera; her sisters, Mary Rivera Perez, Esther Rivera Cardiel, and her beloved son, James Christopher Martinez. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Hector F. Martinez; her son, Henry Martinez and spouse, India Spiller Martinez; granddaughter, Faith Elise Martinez; her grandson, Christopher Chance McCauley (Christine Torres) and his mother, Julie McCauley. She is also survived by her brother, Alex Rivera and spouse, Josie Rivera. Honored Pallbearers will be Mark Martinez, Zack Martinez, Hank Martinez, Dominic Matias, Chance McCauley, and Alejandro Rivera. Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.
