Isabel Sanchez Velasquez Nov 2, 1950-Aug 21, 2012 Isabel Sanchez Velasquez passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 after a 7 year courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Austin, TX. She was a 1969 graduate of Johnston High School and retired from SWBTC in 1999. Isabel was a strong vibrant woman who loved family and was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was full of life and made people around her feel happy with her outgoing personality. She will be remembered by her family for her delicious desserts, especially her pistachio cake. Isabel is survived by her husband, Richard of 41 years; two sons, Richard Craig; daughter-in-law Melissa and Mario; daughter-in-law Christine; five grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Isabel, Marisol, and Mario C. She was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Sanchez Sr. and is survived by her mother Maria Sanchez; sisters: Teresa Varela (David), Dora Castruita (Roland), Mary Cappuchino (Roland Moreno); brothers: Pete Sanchez Jr. (Cynthia) and Jesse Sanchez. Special thanks to Hospice of Austin for their professional care and services. The family also deeply appreciated the special help given by Annabel Vallejo and Teresa Varela. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Raymond Vallejo, Jr., Steven Velasquez, Roy Velasquez, III, Andy Velasquez, Michael Varela, and Marcos Varela. Her spirit, her joy, her love of life will be missed, but we are comforted knowing that she is at peace. She will be with us forever in our hearts. Rest peacefully, we love you always. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
