Clara Vela Gonzales, 67, joined our heavenly father on November 1, 2018 surrounded by her family at her residence. Clara was born in Austin, Texas. She retired from the United States Treasury with over 20 years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, and eating at her favorite restaurants. She also had a passion for cooking for her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Vela, her brother Tony Vela and grandson Ralph Hurtado. Clara was an amazing wife to her husband Rudolph C. Gonzales of 50 years and a loving mother to her four children, Carolyn Gonzales, Rudy Gonzales Jr., Edward Lucas Gonzales, and Jaime Marie Gonzales. Clara had 11 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.

She is survived by her 10 siblings, Helen Castillo (John), Beatrice Vela (Pete), Maria Isabel Avila (Joe), David Vela Sr., Augustine Vela Sr. (Helen), Alfred Vela (Bonnie), Margaret Brown (Roland), Stella (Daniel), Edward Vela Jr., Henrietta Garcia (Robert).
