Tito Aguirre - Class Of 1970

December 29, 1951 July 15, 2025.

Trinidad Rivera Aguirre, lovingly known as Tito, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at the age of 73. He was a proud father, Vietnam veteran, classic car enthusiast, and lifelong storyteller whose spirit touched every corner of the communities he lived in Austin, Buda, and San Antonio, Texas.

Born and raised on Holly Street in East Austin, Tito attended Metz Elementary School and later served his country as a combat medic during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he earned a journalism degree from the University of Texas at Austin, but it was his garage, not a newsroom, where he truly came to life restoring classic motorcycles and cars with heart, patience, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship.

Tito was a man of humor, humility, and incredible character. He found beauty in the simple pleasures: morning coffee at a local diner, kung fu movies, Chicano low-rider culture, a game of dominoes, or a bowl of watermelon with coconut cookies. His love of life came through in every laugh, every gift (usually something completely random that took AAA batteries), and every dog he ever had all lovingly named “Biscuit.”

He adored his grandchildren, doted on his kids, and shared a unique, magical energy with everyone he met. He was a devoted fan of baseball, comedies, oversized jeans, XXXL shirts, and all things adorned with Saint Teresa. He believed dessert should come first, because “you never know when you’re going to die.” And he was best known in his family for his power of “Sana Sana” the mystical touch of a healing father’s hand.

Tito is survived by his three loving children: Tejana Aguirre, Anselmo Aguirre, and Elayne Vasquez, and by a legacy of kindness, creativity, and fiercely unconditional love that will live on in their hearts and stories forever.
