John R. “Johnny” Martinez, 58, of Austin passed away January 15, 2011 in Austin. He was born May 8, 1952 in Austin to Porfirio and Josephine Ramos Martinez. Johnny had been a long time Austin resident. He served in the US Marine Corp and later was the owner of J&M Improvements. He will be remembered as a very giving person who never said no. He enjoyed working and being with family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Martinez and his brother, Henry Martinez.
He is survived by his father, Porfirio Martinez and his wife, Lupe, of Austin; 2 brothers, Andres R. Martinez of Round Rock and Alex Martinez of Austin; 1 sister, Mary Elsie Ortiz and her husband, John, of Austin; and extended family. Friends are cordially invited to a gathering with the family on Wednesday, the 19th of January, 2011, from five o’clock to seven o’clock in the evening at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 1600 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin. A memorial service will be held at seven o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 19th of January, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 1600 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin.
