Gabriel Rodela - Class Of 1971

May 25, 1952 - July 12, 1980

Rodela, Gabriel, Jr., 28, of Dallas, died Friday, July 12, 1980.  Rosary 8 p.m. today at Angel Funeral Home.  Mass 10 a.m. Wednesday at our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Burial, Assumption Cemetery.

Survivors; parents, Mr.. and Mrs. Gabriel Rodela of Austin;

Survived By: Four sisters (Dolores Navarro from Austin, TX, Gloria Rodela from Austin,TX, Elisa Quintana from Austin, TX, Terri Kline from Monrovia, California). Three brothers (Edward Rodela from Fresno, California, Joe Angel Rodela in Baghdad, Iraq and Joe Alfred Rodela in Garland, TX.)

After graduating in 1971, Gabriel Rodela Jr. enlisted into the U.S. Navy and attended boot camp in The Great Lakes. Then served two tours in Viet Nam during his six years of service. He returned home in 1977 back to Austin, TX and then moved to Dallas, Texas made Dallas, TX his second home while being employed with MCI TELECOMMUNICATIONS for three years up to his passing in July 1980 Gabriel traveled around the World twice during his years in the Navy and even while employed with MCI TELECOMMINICATIONS he traveled through out the U.S. As his brother and roommate during his last year, I can convey that he was a individual whom would assist you no matter the issue at hand. To Ganbriel almost everything seemed easy to accomplish. One of his last remarks was this: Semper Fi Happy Trails Gabe... Your Brother Joe Angel Rodela.
