Marilyn Louise (Roland) Walker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Marilyn was 67 years of age.

Marilyn was born on September 13, 1952 Austin, Texas to the late Joe Louis Clark and Willie Bessie (Roland) Edwards. She was a graduate of A.S. Johnston High School in Austin, Texas as well as received an Associate’s Degree from Concordia Lutheran College. Marilyn was employed and retired from Brackenridge Hospital having a career in Radiology.

Marilyn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor O.T. Arnold. Marilyn lived her life dedicated to her faith and family. She was a caring, loving and truly devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to so many. She will be forever remembered for her true one of a kind personality that was filled with love, laughter and generosity. She was passionate about reading, long walks, playing cards (spades) and of course the Dallas Cowboys. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She married Edgar Jennings on September 13, 1979.

In addition to her husband she leaves behind to cherish precious memories to two daughters, Lori Ann Walker and her husband Ray of Pflugerville, Texas and Christal Uvonne Walker of Manor, Texas; son, Edgar Chernard Jennings of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Julian Townsend, Bryson Hennington, Gregory Karo II, Brandi Hennington, Miya Jennings, Casey Jennings and Erin Jennings; great grandchildren, Aniyah Townsend and Julian Townsend, Jr.; brothers, Charles Leon Jackson of Fort Worth, Texas, Harry Lee Stickland, Jr. and his wife Renee of Elgin, Texas, Larry Wayne Strickland and his wife Mae of Temple, Texas, Michael Roy Lofton and his wife Elaine of Pflugerville, Texas and Kenneth Anthony Edward of Austin, Texas; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many extended family members and close friends.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at East Nineteenth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas under the direction of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Austin, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
