Emil D. Gonzales Jr. November 7, 1953 ? September 1, 2009Our beloved Emil D. Gonzales Jr. , age 55 resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Carolyn; daughters Jennifer Renee Gonzales, Quanha Marie Gonzales; grandchildren Anthony, Amaris, Jacob, Jonathon and Savannah; brothers Richard Gonzales, Marcelo and Mary Arocha, Robert and Pat Arocha, Henry Guerra; sisters Dottie Chapa, Ester and Tom Gamboa, Connie and Jesse Morales, Rosie Benavidez , Rachel Zapata; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Marcelo Arocha, Mr. Emil Gonzales Sr. and Amelia Watson; nephew Adam Lee Chapa Sr.; great-niece Angela Hernandez and grandparents Rosie and Lee Gonzales. Emil loved his family with all his heart, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He also loved his fellow employees and patients at Regency Village Care Center. He was especially fond of Mrs. Jackie who he called ?Mom?. Emil was a great fan of the Houston Texans, Texas Longhorns and Notre Dame ?The Fighting Irish?. Serving as pallbearers will be Pete Ruiz, Tim Cotton, Anthony Gonzales, Salvador Ortiz, Eddie Costilla and Ace Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers Jacob and Jonathon. Recitation of Holy Rosary 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., Friday at Cristo Rey Catholic Church Internment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Kerri, Patty, Rose and Theresa of the Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and compassion during this most difficult time.
