Cornelia Faye Ransom Smith was born October 30, 1953 in Austin, Texas. She was the third child born to the union of Farris C. Ransom and Lillie B. Allen Ransom.

Connie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. She remembered the time growing up in the church, attending BTU, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and all the youth activities as a very happy time in her life. As an adult, she sang in the choir and was a member of the Junior Mission.

Connie Faye graduated from Johnston High School in 1972, and attended Blinn College. She worked as a service representative at AT&T for twenty-five years. Connie married Wayne Carr and gave birth to her first son, Jamone Carr. Later, Connie married Jesse Smith, and gave birth to Jerome, Cicely Camille, and Jonas Smith. She loved her children and grandchildren so much. Their diverse personalities and humor were often the sources of her beautifully dazzling smile and contagious laughter.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Rev. F.C. Ransom and by her brothers, Kerald Wayne Ransom and Gerry Vernard Ransom. Those left with wonderful memories include: her daughter, Cicely Camille and sons, Jamone Carr (Julie), Jerome Smith and Jonas Smith; her mother, Lillie B. Ransom; her uncle, Rev. Charles Allen of San Francisco, California; sister, Chaurice Lartigue of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and brother, Earnest Ransom. Connie's grandchildren include: Dominique Smith, Keyon Simon, Jr., Kimora & Kimya Smith, Josiah Carr, and Alyson Boutte'. She had three nieces, Michon Lartigue, Ayanna Ransom, and Aaliyah Noble; and four nephews, KiRhone Ransom, Kleshan Ransom, Jeremy Lartigue, and Rance Noble; and many great nieces and nephews. Connie had many relatives and a large number of friends who will have fond memories of her resilience, her sense of fun, and her laughter, including her life-long sister friend, Patricia Maxwell of Houston, Texas.
