EMMA BENTURA OBITUARY

Emma Rodriguez Bentura, of Buda, TX, went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2022, at the age of 67. Emma was born and raised in Austin, TX, the daughter, and oldest of six children of Reverend Frank Sr. and Porfiria Rodriguez. She married her high school sweetheart Louis Bentura Jr. on August 26, 1978, in Austin. The couple had been married for 45 years.
She was a proud alumnus of A.S. Johnston High School in the east side of Austin. Graduating in the class of 1973. After high school she went on to become a dedicated employee of the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS). She worked a variety of assignments for 36 years until her retirement in June 2010. After retirement, Emma was a loving caretaker of family and friends.
Emma is proceeded in death by her father Reverend Frank Rodriguez Sr. and her mother-in-law Olivia Bentura.
Emma's life was dedicated to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was devout in her faith and demonstrated it thorough her actions in life. Emma was a member of Christian Life Austin Church. She would continually pray for family and loved ones and share the goodness of God with all who would listen. She will be greatly missed and always loved by her family, friends and all who were blessed to spend time with her.
Emma is survived by her husband Louis Bentura Jr of Buda, TX. Her two children, son Jacob C. Bentura, daughter Emily Bentura-Pierce (Brian Pierce). Her grandchildren - Christopher Pierce, Angel Pierce, Avery Bentura, and Jacob "JJ" Bentura. Her mother Porfiria Rodriguez, sisters Diana Amaro and Naomi Soza, brothers Frank Rodriguez Jr, Sam Rodriguez, and Paul Rodriguez. Father-in-law Louis Bentura Sr. Brother-in-laws Ben Bentura, Michael Bentura, Fabian Bentura (Erika), and Matthew Bentura. Sister-in-laws Susan Espinoza, Lucy Gonzales.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A funeral service celebrating Emma's life will occur Monday, September 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. Family and friends are invited back to the funeral home for a reception and a time of fellowship after the committal service.
