Vickie Lynn Swist, 60 of Austin, Texas passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016. She was born August 5, 1956 in Austin, Texas to Clarence and Mozell Brown.

She had the joy of being raised by two parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. In her early childhood she was very excited for the weekends to watch her brothers play football.

Vickie retired in 2012 from Austin Community College after 29 years of service. She was involved with “TABPHE” Texas Association of Black Professionals in Higher Education.

Vickie embraced all the time she was able to be with her grandkids from watching football games, birthday parties, shopping, to just a day of hanging out and watching TV.

Vickie celebrated her life by finding Bingo tournaments from as far as Oklahoma to as close as Riverside Dr.

Vickie also cherished the time with her friends. She was able to make a friend within a few seconds and you would think by the end of their brief meeting that they had become best friends.

Vickie leaves to celebrate her life three loving children, Bennie Swist, Otis Neal and Willie Warren. Among others who will cherish her memory are her precious 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and many friends and neighbors.
