John T. Alcala Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend passed away on June 5, 2010. He was born on March 6, 1958 in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Juanita Alcala; sister Julia De La Cruz; brothers Santos Bandera and Florentino Alcala. His wife of 20 years, Maria Alcala; daughters, Maria Hernandez (Serafin), Nubia Quinteros (Adrian); sons, Uriel, Juan, Luis, Kelvin Quinteros, and Omar Escobar survive him. Survivors also include sisters, Linda Celedon, Elvira Romo; brothers, Paul, Manuel, Jose, Daniel Alcala; and seven grandchildren. John was a loving husband, father, and exceptional grandfather. He will be truly missed by his family and loved ones. The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Angel Funeral Home, 1600 S. 1st St. Austin, TX. Rosary 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2215 E. 2nd St. Austin, TX. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews and friends.
