(12/22/2002) Garvis L. Cunningham, Jr., loving husband and father, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2002. Garvis was born on June 27, 1959, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Garvis Cunningham Sr. and Faye Howard. Survivors to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 21 years, Mary; sons, Christopher and Dorian of Austin; father, Garvis Sr.; and stepmother, Ethel; sister, Tambra Anderson; brother, Eric Cunningham, all of Arlington, Texas; sister, Chafee Horlon, of Austin; grandmother, Ervie Cunningham of Oakwood, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2002, in the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2002, in the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2938 E. 13th Street, Austin, TX 78702, with Reverend Melvin Manor of St. Paul Baptist Church officiating. The interment will follow in the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
