Patricia Horton - Class Of 1977

Patricia "Pat" Gail Horton Pat Horton was born to the late Hubert and Hortense Shaw Horton, Jr., in Austin, TX on January 3, 1958. She graduated from A.S. Johnston High in 1977 and left a great athletic record for females to contend with in Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball and Track and Field. Her Shot Put record was held at Johnston from 1976-1991. She worked in Food Service at The University of Texas at Austin and local cafeterias until she faced health challenges. Pat was a member of Agape Baptist Church with Pastor H. Ed Calahan. She made her life transition peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2007. Pat leaves precious memories to her eight children, Tamieka Crenshaw (Robert), DeShun Mackey, Nicole Davis (Anthony), and Tramell, Andre, Antonn, Angel and Malcolm Banks; three grandchildren; siblings, Horton, Helen Shepherd (Bernard), Annie Whitley, Betty Johnson, Rita Dobbins (Calvin), and James (Evelyn), Harold (Gladys), Ralph (Valarie), Hubert Jr., Robert, and Rachel Horton; adopted family brother, Keith D. Morgan and a great multitude of other relatives and friends. The celebration service will commence 11:00 a.m. today at Mt. Zion Baptist church, 2838 E 13th Street in Austin under the auspices of Agape Baptist Church. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery. Services entrusted to her childhood-adopted brother, Barry J.W. Franklin and A Life Celebration by Franklin.
