Rhonda Denise Green - Class Of 1979 VIEW PROFILE

Rhonda Denise Green was born on November 13, 1960, in Austin, Texas. She was the eldest of four children born to Mrs. Ruby Cook.

Rhonda accepted Christ as at an early age and was baptized in the Colorado River. She served at Greater Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church most of her life. She later joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor A. W. Anthony Mays. She loved God’s word, her church, and her church family. Rhonda was a dedicated servant in various ministries, including Sunday School, Bible Study, The Media Ministry, GSA, and the Health Awareness and Culinary Ministries.

Rhonda grew up in Montopolis, Texas, where she attended elementary, middle, and high school. In 1979, she graduated from Johnston High School. She had a passion for learning and earned degrees from Texas Culinary Academy, Southwest Texas University, Concordia University, and Austin Community College.

She worked as a City Service Analyst for 15 years with Texas Municipal Retirement System. Her passion was cooking for her family and catering events. “Chef Rhonda’s World” was her brand name. She also enjoyed other hobbies and loved to travel.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her grandparents Jessie and Francis Green; two uncles and eight aunts. Those left to cherish precious memories include her loving and supportive mother, Ruby L. Cook; brother, Stephen Green; sister, Sheila G. Robinson (Dwayne); brother, Ricky Green (DaVonna); nieces, Shayla B. Zanders (Roderick) and Lauren Green; nephew, Jordan Young; great-nieces, Khayla Zanders and Leah Zanders; uncle, Bobby Green; aunt, Mattie Mays (Lloyd); godson, Khaymon Clarkson, and his mother, Kimberly Eberhardt (special cousin); and a host of cousins and friends.
