In Loving Memory of

Steven Quintero was taken from his family and friends
unexpectedly on April 24, 2005. Steve was born on
August 26, 1972, in Austin, where he grew as a child
and into adulthood. Steven accepted Jesus as his
personal savior when he was 7 years old while
attending Allandale Baptist Church. He learned to live
life to the fullest each and everyday and his jovial
and outgoing personality meant Steve "never meet a
stranger". Steve attended Johnston High School and
before graduating in 1991, he was an active member of
the marching band. He was class president and earned a
place in the all region band his junior year.
Out of high school, Steve worked at St. David's rehab
center as a physical therapist aide where he
thoroughly enjoyed assisting people in their
rehabilitation through the aquatic program. It was
there where he became active in the Eels on Wheels
program which allows people the opportunity to dive at
their own level by certifying divers through the
handicapped SCUBA association. It was through the Eels
program that Steve was able to combine his passion for
SCUBA and his passion to assist people with physical
disabilities.
Steve is survived by the love of his life, 7 year old
daughter, Shannon Paige Quintero. He is also survived
by his father Pete Quintero, Sr; his mother, Janie
Lugo Quintero; his brother, Pete Quintero, Jr.; sister
in law, Stacey Quintero; nephew, Joshua Quintero and
niece, Madeline Quintero; Paternal grandmother
Margaret Quintero; maternal grandfather Felix Lugo
Sr.. Steve is also survived by many aunts, uncles,
cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly. The family
would also like to thank his three closest friends for
their support during his difficult times, Tito
Carrillo and wife Sara, Alvaro "Tico" Martinez and
wife Cindy, and Terry Scott Hickman and wife Lori.

Martinez, and Ralph Michael Ortega.

Ortega Jr.
The family would like thank the many nameless persons
who stop to render aide. We also wish to thank the
Pflugerville Police, Fire and EMS crews who responded.
