Our Beloved Josephine “Josie,” “Cheppa,” “Peppa,” “Ple” Fabian Nanyes, age 76, entered Gods Heavenly Kingdom surrounded by her Beloved husband Frank and her family, February 19th, 2023.

Josie, is preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe and Adela Fabian, Brothers: Benito Fabian, Cecilio Fabian, Isabel Fabian, George Fabian, Raymond Fabian and sister Jacinita Fabian.

Josie is survived by her amazing husband Frank V. Nanyes Jr.

Frank and Josie were married for 46 amazing years. Josie is also survived by her four children: Dennis (Cindy) F. Reyes, Denise (Tino) F. Robledo, Renee Gomez and Frank (Christina) F. Nanyes III. Grandchildren: Frank F. Nanyes IV, Jacob Ramirez, Lucia Ramirez, Robert R. Gomez, Tristine M. Colunga, Savannah S. Robledo, Adan C. Gomez, Ezekiel “Zekee” M. Robledo, Dennis L. Reyes and Alexsandra L. Nanyes. Great Grandchildren: Evelyn E. “Lovey” Gomez, Adan “DJ” C. Gomez Jr., Avea R. Colunga, Skylar R. Colunga and Mateo Fabian Gomez born February 18th 2023.

Survived by her Beloved sisters: Pauline Renteria, Esperanza (Pete) Valdez Sr., Beatrice (Michael) Gomez and brother, Lupe Fabian. Also survived by countless beloved nieces and nephews.

Josephine was born and raised in Montopolis. She was a migrant farmer in her adolescence years. Josie became a certified teachers assistant, worked many years at the City of Austin Parks and Rec Dept. and retired from AISD. Josephine loved to be outside and maintaining her yards in Cedar Creek and the Montopolis neighborhood. Josephine was always a student and loved to learn and educate family, friends and strangers on any subject or government program available to others. She was an advocate for Getting Out the Vote for any local, state, and federal race or bonds. She along with her husband would organize carpools to voting polls. Josephine was an advocate and she was very passionate to be better and do better for yourself and others. There wasn’t a pot hole she didn’t report locally or state wide. Anyone she and her beloved husband met rapidly became friends and she loved to break bread with family, friends and strangers. Josephine passionately believed in her Catholic Faith. She knew this earthly world was temporary and strived to be a better person for herself and everyone around her.

Her grandsons that will serve as Pallbearers include: Frank F. Nanyes IV, Jacob Ramirez, Robert R. Gomez, Adan C. Gomez, Zeke M. Robledo, Dennis “Laude” Reyes. Honorary Pallbearers: Her Nephews: Adam Renteria, Pete Valdez Jr. Her Granddaughters: Savannah S. Robledo, Lucia Ramirez and Alexsandra L. Nanyes

Family Visitation: Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.

Followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary: March 2nd, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass: March 3rd, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Drive, Austin, Texas 78741.

Interment Committal Service will follow at the Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH-35, Austin, TX 78704.
