Eleuterio "Chine" Pena Jr., 58, passed through the gates of heaven, June 11, 2005. Chine was born in Austin, Texas on February 27, 1947 to Eleuterio Sr. and Eva C. Pe a and graduated from Johnston High School.

Eleuterio "Chine" Pena, Jr. Son, Father, Grandfather, Husband, Uncle, Nephew, Primo, Friend. These were the many of names by which "Chine" was known. You never know the impact of someone great until you've met Dad. Dad was a great man sometimes with boundless moments. There is no memory, even the sad ones, that will not have you laughing when it comes to "Chine". What first comes to mind is his constant flow of talking, he could talk from morning to night. Some even said he could wake the dead! Dad loved fishing, watching sports, going to the beach, feeding the fish and ducks, his two best dogs, Virg and Stoops, coaching baseball at East Austin, car racing, hanging out at La Cuatro or with Charlie and sons. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and sharing his baseball techniques, learned from his old school team Aces & Zeus.

Chine was a Vietnam Veteran that made many friends. He talked about the war with great knowledge and love for all his comrades, fallen and those that returned home.

Chine could always teach you a thing or two about carpentry and politics, we always told him he should run for President, we knew at least all of East Austin, Montopolis and McDonald's on Oltorf would have voted for him. We will miss this great man. If love and tears could bring him back he would never have left. Heaven needed a warrior and Dad was chosen, they couldn't have picked a better man! The gates of heaven are opened and he is now there. WE LOVE YOU! Your grandkids, Annie, Erica, Prieta, Charlie Brown, Esteban, Sugar, Baby Elu, Virg and Stoops will always be your legacy.

His father precedes him along with many uncles, aunts and a long list of friends. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rita Pe a; mother Eva C. Pe a; children, Michael, Christina, Jennifer, and Eleuterio Pe a III; grandchildren, Analysha, Erica, Krislynn, Noah, Steve (Esteban), Ivan (Sugar), and Baby Milicynt; sons-in-law, Steve Martinez and Adolfo Trevino; daughters-in-law, Julie Montoya and Monica Estrada; sisters, Irene Serrano, Carolina Serrano, Maricela Benites, and Patricia (Vache) Pe a; brothers, Elias Pe a and Felipe Pe a. There are many generations of great uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends that have held a true bond with Chine, never forget him or your memories. "Daddy, when your chi-chi or bull dreams at night she will be waiting for you to talk to her, as you have always comforted her in the past."

Serving as pallbearers will be Manuel Villanueva Sr., Charlie Machado, Jose Villanueva, Gonzalo Serrano, Juan Dimas, Sean Hayes, Chale Machado, Eleuterio Pena III, Elias Pena, Felipe Pena and Javier Serrano.
