Darwin Ray Edwards Our beloved baby boy, Darwin Ray Edwards, was born on July 25, 1964 and passed away last Saturday, March 29. He is survived by his mother, Lovie M. Edwards, his son, Darwin Alexander Xavier Edwards, sisters, Faye and Judi, and his brother Anthony. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank W. Edwards, Jr. Darwin will be sorely missed. He was known for his good natured spirit, sense of humor and willingness to put others first, as was demonstrated when he rescued a man trapped in a house fire. Darwin enjoyed music and writing poetry. A 1982 graduate of A.S. Johnston High School, Darwin was elected Most Handsome, played varsity football and wrestled for the Johnston Rams. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 12:00 noon at St. Edwards Missionary Baptist Church, 702 Montopolis Drive, Austin, Texas 78741. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. today, April 2, 2008 at Phillips-Upshaw & Richard Funeral Home, 1410 East 12th Street, Austin, TX 78702. The family will receive friends and guests from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
