LaTasha Nicole Payton was the second born child to late Isabel Mata Young and Larry Selman on April 12, 1983, in Austin Texas.

She confessed her love for Christ and was member of Promise Land Church in Austin, Texas. She attended Johnson High /Academy School in Austin, Texas, where she receive her High School Diploma. She obtained a associates degree in paralegal from Sam Houston University. She expanded her career and worked for the State of Texas and Law Firms until her health failed.

LaTasha was a cheerleader coach for Delwood and for the Pflugerville Hawks organization. She was a kickball coach for UHO and club member. She was a booster club member for Connally High School and loved to play bingo. Most of all she loved being a wife, mother, daughter, mimi, aunt, sister, cousin and friend. She always shared what she had with anyone, another attribute was caring for her family and friends.

he was preceded in death by her mother, Isabella Mata Young; her grandmother, Patricia Mata; and grandfather, Juan Mata.

In 2008, she met the object of her affection and married Harold Payton, Jr. in 2012.

On Monday night, September 28, 2020, at her residence, LaTasha reached her final destination in this earthly tabernacle.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Harold Payton, Jr.; her daughter, Victoria Soriano of Austin; her father, Larry Selman, Sr.; her two brothers, Larry Selman, Jr. (Candis Selman) and Rico Williams; her sister, Arianna Selman; her two sons, Jamiah Payton and LaDaedrix Payton; her granddaughter, Ta’Liyah Elei Payton; her father-in-law, Harold Payton, Sr. of Waco, Texas; her two sisters-in-law, Latonya Mathis (Reggie) of Waco, Texas, and Sharon Pettaway of Louisville, Kentucky; her brothers-in-law, Vinnie Payton (Yael) of San Antonio, Texas, and Jamal Payton of Waco, Texas; her three aunts, Elaine Hardman, Patricia Selman and Carol Mata of Austin, Texas; her five uncles: Victor Davidson of Austin, Texas, Paul Mata (Rosanna Mata), Carlos Mata (Chrstiana Mata), Lucky Mata (Barbara Mata), and Tommy Mata all of Florida; her four nephews: Lathan Selman, Elijah Selman, Anthony Selman and Darron Williams; her niece, Terrann Selman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
