Our beloved Sandy Cortinas Guerrero, age 57, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Gabriel Guerrero; her parents, Simona and Alfred Cortinas; her brother, Frank Cortinas, and her brother-in-law, Ricardo Contreras.

Sandy retired from the City of Austin after working over 25 years. She loved crafting, decorating and anything artsy. She also loved our annual family trips to the beach, traveling with other family, trips to the casinos, playing cards and attending her grandkids sporting events. Even throughout her battle with cancer, she did not allow it to hold her back.

Sandy is survived by her children, Gabriela "Gabby" Solis (Oscar), Cassandra "Cassy" Guerrero, and Gabriel Guerrero, Jr. (Briana); her treasured grandchildren, Aubrielle Guerrero, Viviana Solis, Miguel Solis, Gabriel Adam Guerrero, and Luis Solis; her siblings, Alfred Cortinas, Jr. (Jeannette), Jesse Cortinas (Amelia), Daniel Cortinas (Stacey), Sara Contreras, Dorothy Cortinas, Yolanda Garcia (Arthur), Christine Grosso (Anthony), and Frances Paxson (Peter), as well as numberous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Sandy's children would like to offer a special thank you to Rafael Soriano for the loving care he provided their mother.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

A Scripture Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 also at Mission Funeral Home - South Side. The chapel will open at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas. A Reception will follow at Point Community Church, 11300 Old San Antonio Rd., Manchaca, Texas.
