Obituary for Karl Eugene Turner

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Karl Eugene Turner, who left us on November 15, 2023. He was 61 years old. Tinkler or Tink, as he was fondly called by family and friends, was born on March 12, 1962 to Peggy Cathrine Meeks – Turner and Howard Turner in Austin, Texas, the same city that he would call home for the entirety of his life.

Karl was a graduate of Johston High School. He had four children, Carla Renee Turner, Karl Eugene (Turner Jr., Kadijah Nicole Turner, and Howard Eugene Odonnis Turner. His children were his greatest joy.

His grandchildren and great grandchildren adored him. Karl’s siblings are Michael Turner, Vickie Rae (Turner) Offor, and Gidget (Turner) Shepard; he was the baby of the family and very much deeply loved.

He readily joked around with family and friends and was always there to cheer you up when you needed it the most or just to make you laugh. We will all miss that more than anyone can say. Karl had a passion for cooking and grilling and worked at various restaurants.

Karl was preceded by his father, Howard and mother Peggy, Karl leaves a legacy of love, and laughter.

He is survived by his children, Carla, Karl, Kadijah, and Howard, his cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and his siblings, Michael, Vickie, and Gidget.

Karl’s life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family, and the impact one person can have on the world. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
