
Juanita Arocha "Janie" Garcia
(07/09/2003) Juanita ``Janie'' Arocha Garcia died Saturday, June 28, 2003, in Vallejo, California, after a long battle with Lupus. Born in Austin, Texas, she was a seventh generation descendant of the Canary Islanders. She lived in American Canyon, California for 10 years. Janie was loved by all who knew her. She demonstrated what it meant to love unconditionally. She was known to be nurturing, giving, selfless and to put everone else's well being before her own. She will be missed by all. Janie is preceded in death by her ``Wela'', Mariana Cruz Arocha, with whom she will be laid to rest. Janie is survived by her husband, Eligio Fernando Garcia; and her children, Sabrina Michelle Garcia, Fernando ``Eli'' Garcia of American Canyon; her son and wife, Christopher M. and Ramona Arocha; her grandchildren, Christoher M. Arocha Jr. and Angela R. Arocha, all of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by parents, Rosie Diaz Arocha and Elizel Arocha; her brother and sisters, Samuel Arocha, Carolyn Cervantes, Rachel Garcia of California, Anita Garcia, Angelina Resendez of Texas; along with family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Cristo Rey Catholic Church on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Jayne Mathias, officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
