Carl Eugene Erskine - Class Of 1972 VIEW PROFILE

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a courageous yet humble soul, Carl Eugene Erskine. Born in Austin, Texas on May 9, 1954, Carl was a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was known for his infectious humor and his exceptional intelligence that he applied in all facets of his life. His life was a living example of a quote by Theodore Roosevelt, "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." Carl was a man of many talents. His professional life was marked by over 20 years of service to the City of Austin, followed by a long tenure at the county clerk office. After his retirement, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was passionate about raising his birds, fixing his remote cars, and working on real ones. Carl loved riding bikes, gardening, and being a helpful to his neighbors, friends and those in need. He was always the family man and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Carl was a wonderful father to his six children, a loving son, and a caring neighbor and friend. His humility and warmth was felt by all who encountered him. Despite the challenges life threw at him, Carl faced them with courage and with a heart full of love. Carl leaves behind his daughters Rochelle, Tasha, Christina, and LaToya, his sons Carl Jr and Isiah, and his cherished grandchildren Xzavia, Donte', Marcel, Qaleb, and Zamoria. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doris Younger and Carroll Erskine, (stepdad: Curtis Younger) and his grandson Quade. Carl's life may have ended, but his spirit lives on in his children and grandchildren. His memory will always be a beacon of light, guiding them through life's ups and downs.
