Dan Ivory Mays, Jr.

December 14, 1952 ~ December 25, 2022 (age 70)

Dan Ivory Mays Jr., 70 of Austin, Texas passed away on December 25, 2022.  He was born December 14, 1952 to Dan Ivory Mays Sr. and Emma Mays.  He was one of six children.

Mr. Mays graduated from Albert Sidney Johnston High School in 1971.  He went on to serve his country in the United States Army in 1972, and then the United States Marine Corp in 1979; he was honorably discharged.  He furthered his career by working for 10 years at Capitol Metro.

Dan enjoyed basketball, carpentry, landscaping, and his private life.

Dan Jr. married Mary Ann Pounds on September 3, 1983; into this union two children were born - Ivory Rosstin Mays and Dan Christopher Mays III.

Mr. Mays was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and three sisters:  Wanda Mays; Veronica Mays; and Karen Mays.

Dan Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memory: sons - Ivory Rosstin Mays, and Dan Christopher Mays III (Megan); five grandchildren - Eternity, Michael, Malachi, Maxine, and Braxton; his brothers - Brian Mays, Sr. (Dorothy); Willie Mays, Sr. (Mildred); Joseph A. Young; David White, all of Austin, TX; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
