Larry Piña Rosalez, 65, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 19, surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born February 22, 1953 to Margarita Piña and Manuel Rosalez. Larry was raised in East Austin, and graduated from Johnston High School in 1972. He proudly served his country, joining the Navy at age 21. He was stationed aboard the multi-purpose aircraft carrier, USS Independence, patrolling the Mediterranean Sea. Larry married Maria Elena Gonzalez, of New Braunfels, Texas, on February 4, 1978. He was a quality control inspector for Sulzer Carbomedics for 20 years. Larry loved the Dallas Cowboys, riding his Harley, and drinking Bud Light on his front porch. Most importantly, he was a family man. From planning summer beach trips to playing board games, Larry felt strongly about making happy memories for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Maria Elena; daughters Jennifer, Laura, and Veronica; grandchildren Sierra, Nate, Tina, Sydney, and Sellers; siblings, Rosemary, Roy, Olivia, Manuel, Vera, Connie, Minerva, and Gracie; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
