Rose, known as "Tinkie" by her family and friends, went to join her loving parents, Joe and Cipriana Salas, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her beloved husband, David Smith; daughter, Andrea Marrero; son, Daniel J. Marrero, both of San Antonio; son, Carlos R. Marrero of Austin; sisters, Birdie Lindsey and husband John of Austin, Grace Kovecsi and husband Ralph of Tempe, Arizona; step-sons, Harold Smith, Craig Smith and wife Susie, Steven Smith, all of Austin; grandchildren and a multitude of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street. Private cremation and interment to follow at a later date.
