Leo Eugene (Lil' Bo) Zachary

March 31, 1953 - March 27, 2020

Leo Eugene Zachary Jr. was born March 31, 1953 to Leo Zachary Sr. and Lucy Lee Chambers in Taylor Texas.
Leo accepted Christ at an early age was baptized. He was a member of Greater Swenson Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Tyree King.
He attended school at Simms Elementary, Allan Jr. High and Johnston High school all of Austin, Texas and The University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, and Houston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas, after which he joined the Navy and was honorably discharged.
Leo’s favorite pass time was playing cards, dominoes and, writing poetry. He loved listening to country music and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was known as (Lil Bo) to family, (Zach) to friends, (Baby) to his mother, (Brother) to sister Cynthia, (La Bo So Toe) to sister Dorraine, (Zach) to brother Craig, (Uncle Batman to his great nieces and nephews, (Uncle Boy) to Noah, and a special greeting to him from his cousin Nelson Hargrove Jr (“Hey! Leo Zachary Jr.”).
Leo was preceded in death by: His father – Leo Zachary Sr., His sisters- Vickie R Zachary and Carol J. Zachary Bell.
He departed this life Friday March 27, 2020 at 6:10pm.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother Lucy L. Zachary; 1 daughter – Anita McGill; 2 sisters Cynthia Zachary, Dorraine Roberts (Darryl Wayne-deceased); 1 brother – Craig Zachary; 3 grandsons – Alonzo Gums, Arius Gums, August Zachary; 3 granddaughters – Krystal McGill, Kelaya McGill, Kimora McGill; 1 great grandson – Xavier Small; 1 great granddaughter – A ‘Lyric Smith-Gums; 1 uncle – Alfred Brown (Elizabeth Brown-deceased) all of Austin, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Due to the Pandemic crisis there will be a lifestream/facebook viewing 12 PM to 2 PM on Saturday, April 4th at Greater Swenson Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Austin. To be in compliance with the local ordinance only two individuals may enter the church at a time, view and exit immediately.
