Santiago "Jimmy" Duarte Obituary

Our beloved Santiago "Jimmy" Duarte, Jr., age 68, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago Duarte, Sr. and Mary Hernandez Duarte and his sister, Leticia McGhie. Jimmy proudly served our County as a member of the United States Navy. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Guadalupe Zamora; his children, Michael Zamora, Ernest Zamora and his wife, Kanokwan, Ricky Zamora and his wife, Janice Riojas, Anna Lisa Duarte, Breann Duarte, and Ashley Zamora; his sisters, Elva Lara and Alma Champaigne; 18 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with a Scripture Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas. Services will be live-streamed to allow those unable to attend to participate. Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more. If you are ill or are concerned about the virus, it is recommended that you not attend services. The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support during this very difficult time.
