Jimmy P. Gomez Jimmy P. Gomez born January 14, 1953 in Austin, TX to Jesse and Carmen Gomez returned his spirit to God on August, 22nd 2011. Jimmy was a graduate of Brandeis University with a degree in Political Science, a firefighter with the Austin Fire Department and Dining Services Director at Texas State University. Throughout college he practiced martial arts and followed the teachings of Bruce Lee. He was known to watch many a western movie with John Wayne and also enjoyed a good dose of science-fiction – mainly Star Trek… all of them. He strove to constantly defend the little guy in all he did. He is survived by three sisters: Melinda Enriquez, Melissa Gomez, and Jeanna Gomez and two brothers: Daniel P. Gomez and Ben P. Gomez, four children: Guacari, Marisol, Ariana and Dioni, the love of his life, Maria M. Rodriguez and hundreds of family and friends who love him dearly. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Wednesday August 24th with Rosary at 7:00pm at Austin-Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78752 Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday August 25th 11am at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda. 1100 Main St. Buda, TX 78610 followed by Interment at Live Oak Cemetery.
