Paul David Martinez - Class Of 1973 VIEW PROFILE

Paul David Martinez was born in Austin, Texas on March 7, 1955 to Eugene and Ida Martinez. He was the second born of six siblings and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Austin TX where he accepted Christ at a young age. Shortly after graduating from Johnston High School, he moved to Houston where he met and married his wife Janet A. Smith through a mutual friend. They wed on July 24, 1976 and through this union they were blessed with three daughters and six grandsons. 

 

Paul worked as a machinist for 38 years to provide for his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather who would help his family, friends and neighbors without hesitation. He was devoted to his wife for 45 years whom he loved and cherished dearly. His three daughters were the apple of his eye whom he cherished and worked hard to provide for.  He instilled values that included faith, integrity, upstanding character and independence. 

 

His grandsons were his pride and joy. He created endless memories with them which included lots of laughter, plenty of trips to the store, life lessons and taught the oldest how to repair their trucks. He enjoyed barbecuing ribs (his specialty), old school music, and classic vehicles. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan, win or lose. 

 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents (Eugene Martinez and Ida Martinez) and brother Daniel Martinez Sr. (Cisco). He is survived by his wife Janet A. Martinez, children Lakeisha Martinez and Carl Stoneham of Houston TX, Angela Roberts and husband Alex Roberts of Cypress TX, Paula Jenkins and husband Cedrick Jenkins of Houston TX. Sister Deborah Garza and husband Steve Garza of Austin TX, Sister-in-law Sheryl Martinez of Brenham TX. Brother Michael Martinez and wife Minnie Martinez of Austin TX. Brothers Manuel Martinez of Austin TX and Jeffery Martinez of Austin, TX. Six grandsons Jaden Jenkins, Tyler Mitchell, Kyle Stoneham, Eric Jenkins, Terry Mitchell, David Paul Jenkins, one grand-daughter Alexa Roberts and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
