Mattie Viola Crenshaw was born on July 3, 1954, in Hillsboro, Texas, to the union of Charles Steveson and Uverter Louise Wilder Thompson.

She confessed a love for Christ at a very early age and attended Greater Love Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Isaac Grant, Jr.

Mattie had a very loving spirit and dedicated her life to the upbringing of her children and grandchildren with Christian values.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Steven Thompson and Uverter Wilder Thompson; and one sister, Marjorie Sanders.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are a son, Delvin James Crenshaw; daughter, Sherry Louise Thompson; two granddaughters, Marquette DeAnn Thompson and Angel Marie Thompson; three sisters, Angie Garrett of Austin, Texas, Peggy Charles of Austin, Texas, and Velma Thompson of Manor, Texas; three brothers, Anthony Ray Thompson, Charles Steveson Thompson, and Lankford Earl Thompson, all of Austin, Texas; one aunt, Mary Jones; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will take place on Friday, December 15, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Love Baptist Church, 6601 Manor Road, Austin.

Interment at Taylor City Cemetery, Taylor, Texas
