Angelina Torres Paredes, 58, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 8, 2013. She was born in Austin, Texas to Sefirino and Matilde Torres. Angelina's father, Sefirino Torres, her sister, Stella Muir, her aunt, Natalia Torres, grandparents, Martin, Alejandra Torres and Leo, Susanna Garcia, and infant niece, Irish Ann Torres, preceded her in death. Angelina graduated from Johnston High School in 1973. In order to continue her education, Angelina entered college at University of Texas at Austin. She completed her Masters degree in Psychology, and received her diploma in 2000. Angelina was employed as a social worker for AIDS Services of Austin, where she worked for 7 years. Angelina was an active member of Xinachtli (Dansa) for over 30 years. Her favorite hobbies were baking and making jewelry. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her mother, Matilde Torres of Austin, TX, her husband of 20 years, Antonio Paredes, of Austin, TX, her sons, Eslibre and Diego Mendes (Stephanie) of Austin, TX, her grandsons, Noah and Moses Mendes of Austin, TX, her siblings, Jimmy Torres (Kate) of Austin, TX, Elizabeth Antrobus (Jose) of Tucson, AZ, Miguel Torres (Gloria) of Austin, TX, Lori Taylor of Austin, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Austin-Peel and Son's Funeral Home on October 12th 2013. The viewing will begin at 3 PM, and the Rosary will start at 6 PM.
