Jesse Tello Hernandez - Class Of 1968 VIEW PROFILE

Our beloved Jesse T. Hernandez, age 52, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 7, 2001. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Pete and Tiburcia T. Hernandez Brothers Pete James and Pete Hernandez, Jr.Mr. Hernandez graduated from Johnston High School and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. During which time he received several citations for his service, the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, 2 Silver Stars, Army Commendation Medal with Victory Device, a Certificate of Appreciation from President Richard Nixon and the Department of the Army for his faithful performance of duty. Survivors include: Sisters, Maria H. Saldana, of Austin, Thelma H. Trinidad and husband Isreal of San Antonio, TX., and Brother, Joseph C. Hernandez of Austin. He is also survived by a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Recitation of rosary Sunday 7:00pm at the Mission Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday 10:00am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Mark Trinidad, Albert Trinidad, Jose Jaime Hernandez, Edward Gonzales, Dario Gonzales and Nicholas Garcia. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Hernandez, Charlie Chapa, Pete Saldana, Bernard Reyes, Jay Garcia and Dario P. Gonzales.
