Gilbert was the son of Gilbert, Sr and Guadalupe (Rodriguez) Osorio and brother of Carlos.
He enlisted in the US Army after graduating from Johnston High School in 1966 and served for four years. After Gilbert was honorably discharged, he was employed as delivery driver for the Austin American Statesman. He met Estella Rodriguez and they were married August 25, 2015. Later he started his career as a bus driver for Capital Metro retiring in 2018 and bought his dream car- a red corvette. Gilbert enjoyed riding his corvette with his wife. He liked to watch old shows like Bonanza, All in the Family and Gunsmoke.
Gilbert leaves behind his daughters, Elizabeth, Victoria, his wife, Estella Osorio and 2 stepdaughters, Alejandra and Patricia and his only brother, Carlos.
Preceded by his parents.

Per his request Gilbert was cremated and his ashes will be buried next to his mother. No services held at his request.
