Jesus R. Canales, Jr.Age: 61 Died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at St. David's Hospital Austin, Texas. He was born in Austin on September 6, 1948. He is preceded in death by his loving father, Jesus A. Canales, Sr and his mother Maria De La Luz Requejo. Jesus is survived by is wife Belinda Canales of Kyle, Texas, two daughters Alicia Thomason husband Tommy Thomason, and Olivia Canales. Grandchildren, Brianna, Serena, Cristina, Issac, Noah, Lillianna, & Nathan. His sister Mary Canales and brother Chris Canales and nephews Rudy and Chris Cardenas and family. Jesus served during the Vietnam War in the Army, Company A 1st Plt.4th Bn1st Bde after which he came back to Austin, Texas after serving for his country. Jesus worked for the City of Austin Police vehicle department for 20 years and after retirement started his second career with Cardinal Health working over seventeen years. Jesus was an active classic car enthusiast where his passion was restoring old cars and attending classic car shows as a family affair. Jesus was a loving a giving person who never met a stranger. Jesus will be missed by his family and friends. Viewing will be held from 12 pm to 7pm on Friday, June 4, 2010 with a small mass to be held at 7pm that night at the Harrell Funeral Home FM 2770 & Kohlers Crossing 1715 Kirby in Kyle, Texas. Funeral Service and Interment are pending, and will be announced. Jesus fought a hard battle with diabetes. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of St. David's hospital who attended to Jesus and the needs of the family during these trying times.
